Sleep Problems Linked to Mental Health

sleep
This article is very interesting because it explores the idea that sleep is extremely important and sleep problems are linked to a number of different mental health disorders. This article talks about how for the first time sleep problems are being linked to schizophrenia. There was a sleep study done with 20 people with schizophrenia and 21 healthy people. Every person with schizophrenia experiences sleep disturbances and social isolation. It is very interesting that people with such disorders have a more difficult time sleeping but it also does make sense.

  1. While this is something that I didn't know before, it definitely does make sense. I know that one day without a lot of sleep can be brutal for me, so it is logical that people with sleep disorders or trouble sleeping can get other disorders as well.

  2. This makes so much sense. Whenever I get less sleep, I end up in a bad mood the following day and I take naps to make up for the lost time. I can definitely see how schizophrenia is linked to a lack of sleep and how other mental disorders go hand in hand with less sleep.
